The SmoothGlo device combines Lumenis’s advanced Stellar IPL and VoluDerm technologies for optimal radiance. The IPL device stimulates collagen by gently heating your skin in precise locations. In combination with the radiofrequency-assisted thermal electrodes of VoluDerm, the energy generated by the handheld can penetrate much deeper into your skin.

Starting with the Stellar IPL portion, the device targets hyperpigmentation first. Once we have addressed your red and brown lesions, your skin’s overall tone can improve. This device also helps increase the water content of your skin for extra youthfulness.

Next comes the VoluDerm section of the treatment, which uses RF microneedling to improve your skin’s shape. This step smooths out your skin’s texture, sculpts your facial contours, reduces laxity and wrinkles, and helps add volume.

Another treatment step we can add is sweeping TriPollar RF applicators over your skin. These applicators deliver focused heat deep into your dermis, boosting your collagen and elastin production.

You may not be eligible for SmoothGlo if you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid medications containing aspirin, vitamin E, and fish oil. Talk to your doctor if you are taking any of these substances as a prescription—we may ask that you put them on hold during treatment. Avoid retinoids for at least 2 days before and after receiving SmoothGlo. Hydration is paramount in the days leading up to your appointment to get the best possible treatment results.

After your SmoothGlo treatment, do not exfoliate or apply harsh skincare products to your skin for 7 days. Only use gentle cleansers and lukewarm water on your treatment areas during this first week. Continue to use sunscreen to avoid direct sun exposure. Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for 2 days.
