What are peptides?

All the proteins in your body which help cells grow, perform their various functions and keep you healthy are sequences of smaller components called amino acids.  Amino acids are often referred to as the building blocks of life.  Peptides are shorter chains of amino acids than those that make up proteins.  Why does that matter? It matters because scientists discovered the first known peptide, secretin, in 1902 and realized that these smaller chains of amino acids have specific functions in your body.  You already know about many such peptides, such as insulin, that have been beneficial to patients with Diabetes for nearly a century.

Just as there are many different proteins that work to influence health, there are many different peptides with different functions for your health.  To date scientists have isolated peptides (sometimes more than one for the same function) for use in a variety of areas of health:

  1. Immune system

  2. Skin

  3. Anti-aging

  4. bone, muscle and ligament repair

  5. Chronic pain and fatigue

  6. Allergies

  7. Autoimmune conditions

  8. IBS

  9. Fibromyalgia

  10. And more….

The Benefits of Peptides......

Peptides build and repair tissues and make enzymes, hormones and other body chemicals essential optimal health.  You might ask, since your body already makes peptides, why do you need to take them as supplementation?  Good question.

As we age, the pituitary gland slows production of important peptides like Human Growth Hormone (HGH) involved in cell reproduction and regeneration.  Without a regular resupply of new, freshly created cells, our bodies become weakened and more susceptible to infection, viruses and disease generally.

As HGH levels decrease in middle age, for example, we start to notice negative effects like weight gain, muscle loss, decrease energy levels, reduced strength and stamina, low libido or sexual dysfunction, poor sleep, and aging skin.

Peptides can be very helpful in reversing this.  Peptides via supplementation work like the peptides your own body produces stimulating the various glands in the body to secrete the necessary hormones to keep the body functioning at a high level.

At Renew we are now initially offering the following peptides to benefit your health and that of your family:.

Thymosin a-1

This peptide has positive effects in many areas of overall health with an excellent safety profile.  It enhances the immune system, helps with anti-aging by boosting antioxidants and helping your body naturally produce more HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and cleans up cellular debris.

Thymosin Beta-4

This is an amazing peptide that helps in injury recovery to hair growth.  As it also helps reduce inflammation, it is a great choice to help with your IBS, fibromyalgia and improving your immune system.

Pentosan Polysulfate

This peptide is ideal for all arthritis sufferers. Not only can this significantly reduce pain in 86% of patients but it can actually show improvement in the arthritis process itself.

Very popular peptide that naturally helps to stimulate your own human growth hormone (HGH) but is preferred over some of the other alternatives patients have used.

Typically, the benefits of Peptide Therapy are usually noticed within the first few weeks.  However, Peptide Therapy can take between 3-6 months to reach a therapeutic level in the body and gain the maximum benefit.  Those benefits increase synergistically with continued therapy.   Peptides are administered in different ways depending on the type.  Some are via injection, others orally and still others via sublingual administration.  For those that require injections, once your levels are optimized and you are receiving the benefits of the therapy, injection frequencies can be decreased and you will be transitioned to a maintenance protocol!
